Tekamah Public Library Foundation At Work

Providing your library with knowledge, technology and community programs.

Your Tekamah Public Library Foundation was established November 16, 1992. It was formed solely for the purpose of providing improvements and assistance to your Tekamah Public Library.

The Foundation provides annual financial support for the Summer Reading Program, ongoing development of a Teen Room, and the TWIXT Program for pre-teens.

The Foundation solicits and receives support from other foundations. Among these is a program for babies and their mothers called “I’m a New Reader.” This program encourages mothers to read to their infant and preschool aged children and visit the library.

Your library’s Technology Center is continually enhanced and upgraded through the Foundation.

The Foundation also buys books from the Memorials it receives.

With the acquisition of adjoining land, the Foundation has provided off-street parking and green space for your Library. The land is deeded to the City of Tekamah.

The Foundation is undertaking this Brick of Light addition and renovation project to bring your Tekamah Public Library into compliance with the American Disability Act, which gives easier access to everyone. It will also pave the way for the next 100 years by providing our community the best literary and information access technology services available.

The Foundation has no paid staff. Foundation members are volunteers who are asked to serve by the Tekamah Public Library Board.
